What Is Shot Blasting?
Shot blasting is the operation of cleaning or preparing a surface by shooting a stream of abrasive material against it to remove surface contaminants or to roughen a surface.
Our Shot Blasting team are able to blast to SA 2.5 and SA 3 standards as described below.
SA 2.5
A very thorough blast cleaning: The surface shall be free from visible oil, dirt and grease, from poorly adhering mill scale, rust, paint coatings and foreign matter. The metal has a greyish colour. Any traces of contamination shall be visible only as slight stains in the form of spots or stripes.
SA 3
Blast cleaning to pure metal: 100% clean, the surface shall be free from visible oil, dirt and grease, from poorly adhering mill scale, rust, paint coatings and foreign matter. The blasted surface will have a uniform metallic colour.
Precision Quality Checking
All items are tested for adhesion and thickness after curing to ensure they are cured correctly. There is no point in your products looking good if they can't withstand everyday life and external elements. Just another small reassurance for all our customers that the items they receive will be of the highest quality and trouble-free.
